Wow! I have no words!! I watched this film yesterday and I’m still thinking about it. The story, the direction, the music, the acting, everything feels so real and natural. It’s one of those films that doesn’t feel like “acting” it feels like life unfolding right in front of you.

A Zambian film from director Rungano Nyoni, who deservedly won at Cannes for her work here. It’s a huge achievement, not just for her, but for African cinema as a whole. You can feel the authenticity in every detail, this is storytelling rooted in culture, tradition and truth.

The film is filled with powerful women, carrying the narrative with such presence. The men’s roles often revolve around food or money, while the women drive the emotional weight of the story. The acting is stunning, so natural that you forget you’re watching a movie. It feels like you’re right there, witnessing lives unfold with all their contradictions and beauty.

Nyoni’s direction is brilliant, balancing humor, raw emotion, and sharp cultural commentary. The music elevates the atmosphere, and every frame feels both intentional and alive. It’s rare to find a film this honest, this unfiltered and this moving.
