I’ve always loved bottle films and Hallow Road is a wild example of how tense they can get. The whole thing takes place in one car ride and you feel trapped in there with them.
Rosamund Pike and Matthew Rhys absolutely kill it. Their chemistry is insane, every pause and glance feels heavy. Pike especially… she’s just next level. Honestly, she’s amazing in everything and here she proves it again.
The only letdown for me was the ending. I get what it was going for, grief, guilt, denial all that heavy stuff but it didn’t totally land the way I hoped.
Even so, the film sticks with you. It’s less about what you actually see and more about what it makes you sit with afterward.
