Must Watch
Disclosure Day
Disclosure Day
Directed by Steven Spielberg. Built around the premise that the truth about alien life is about to be made public. A Spielberg alien film in 2026 is an event in itself.
Toy Story 5
Toy Story 5
Starring Tom Hanks and Tim Allen, directed by Andrew Stanton (WALL-E, Finding Nemo) who also co-wrote the film. Woody, Buzz, and Jessie face their most existential rival yet: the tablet. Even if it's not a great film, it's nostalgic. I want 20 Toy Story films more.
Scary Movie
Scary Movie
Starring Anna Faris, Regina Hall, and Marlon Wayans, back together for the first time since Scary Movie 2. You don't watch it for anything but for what it is. It's fun, it's silly, and it's nostalgic.
Worth It
The Death of Robin Hood
The Death of Robin Hood
Starring Hugh Jackman and Jodie Comer (Killing Eve, The Last Duel), directed and written by Michael Sarnoski (Pig). The tagline is "He Was No Hero" and it earns that premise.
Power Ballad
Power Ballad
Starring Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas, directed by John Carney (Once, Begin Again) who also co-wrote the film. A past-his-prime wedding singer whose song is stolen by a fading boy-band star. By all accounts a total charmer.
Voicemails for Isabelle
Voicemails for Isabelle
Starring Zoey Deutch (The Politician, Zombieland: Double Tap), Nick Robinson (Love, Simon, Jurassic World), and Nick Offerman (Parks and Recreation, The Last of Us), written and directed by Leah McKendrick. Zoey Deutch leaves voice messages for her late sister. A stranger whose number was reassigned can't stop listening and falls for her. A genuinely sweet premise.
Little Brother
Little Brother
Starring John Cena and Eric Andre, directed by Matt Spicer (Ingrid Goes West). John Cena's carefully ordered life is derailed by his long-lost eccentric little brother. This will either be chaotic in the best way or the worst.
Office Romance
Office Romance
Starring Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein (Ted Lasso, Shrinking), who also co-wrote the screenplay. JLo as a straight-laced airline CEO falling for her new company lawyer. Raunchy, fun, and very easy to watch.
The Birthday Party
The Birthday Party
Starring Willem Dafoe and Joe Cole (Peaky Blinders, Black Mirror), directed by Miguel Angel Jimenez. A psychological drama about a gathering of people with unresolved history slowly unwinding over the course of a birthday.
O Horizon
O Horizon
Starring Maria Bakalova (Borat Subsequent Moviefilm) and David Strathairn (Good Night and Good Luck, Nomadland), written and directed by Madeleine Rotzler. A grieving neuroscientist discovers technology that reconnects her with her deceased father. Quiet and unexpected.
Find Your Friends
Find Your Friends
Starring Bella Thorne (Midnight Sun, The DUFF), Chloe Cherry (Euphoria), Helena Howard (Madeline's Madeline), Sophia Ali (Uncharted, Grey's Anatomy), and Zion Moreno (Gossip Girl), written and directed by Izabel Pakzad. A girls' trip to Joshua Tree turns into a survival thriller when hostile locals close in.
Girls Like Girls
Girls Like Girls
Starring Myra Molloy and Maya Da Costa, written and directed by Hayley Kiyoko. A coming-of-age love story set over a sun-drenched summer. Sweet and earnest.
Jackass: Best and Last
Jackass: Best and Last
Starring Johnny Knoxville and the full gang. Remember Jackass on MTV? I know it's a shit film but nostalgia, man. One last ride.
Rose of Nevada
Rose of Nevada
Starring George MacKay (1917, Captain Fantastic) and Callum Turner (The Boys in the Boat, Fantastic Beasts), written and directed by Mark Jenkin (Enys Men, Bait). Two men swept away after taking a job on a time-travelling boat. A surreal genre mash-up for adventurous audiences.
Most probably going to be bad but I want to check them out anyway
40 Dates and 40 Nights
40 Dates and 40 Nights
Starring Bailee Madison (Once Upon a Time, Bridge to Terabithia) and Joel Courtney (Super 8, The Kissing Booth). A woman accepts her grandmother's challenge to go on 40 dates in 40 nights for a year of free rent. Light, fun, and easy to enjoy with the right crowd.
Leviticus
Leviticus
Directed by Adrian Chiarella, starring Shannon Berry (The Wilds) and Mia Wasikowska (Alice in Wonderland, Stoker). A horror film about two teenage boys hunted by a supernatural entity that takes the form of the person they desire most. Sits with you long after the credits.
The Get Out
The Get Out
Starring Russell Crowe and Aaron Paul. The night life is a dirty business. An action thriller that looks like exactly the kind of film Russell Crowe makes now.
Another World
Another World
A Hong Kong animated film by Shi Wai, distributed by GKIDS (Wolfwalkers, The Secret World of Arrietty). Visually striking and flying mostly under the radar ahead of its arrival.

TV Shows

Must Watch
House of the Dragon
House of the Dragon โ€” Season 3
Starring Emma D'Arcy and Matt Smith (The Crown, Doctor Who). From fire comes darkness. The Targaryen civil war finally explodes into full-scale action, kicking off with a massive naval battle and promising to be the most propulsive season yet.
The Bear
The Bear โ€” Season 5 (Final)
Starring Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri (Bottoms, Theater Camp), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The last season of one of the best shows in recent memory. The last two seasons were a disappointment, so this is understandable, but I hope they finish strong. Goodbye, yes chef.
Cape Fear
Cape Fear
Starring Amy Adams, Javier Bardem, and Patrick Wilson (Insidious, The Conjuring). Married attorneys targeted by a revenge-obsessed psychopath in a 10-episode reinvention of the classic thriller. That poster alone should be enough.
Worth It
The Season
The Season
Starring Jessie Mei Li (Shadow and Bone, All of Us Strangers) and Toby Stephens (Black Sails, 13 Hours). A White Lotus-style Hong Kong thriller about wealthy friends on a summer boating season whose glamorous facade cracks spectacularly, co-produced by the team behind Crazy Rich Asians.
Not Suitable for Work
Not Suitable for Work
Created and executive produced by Mindy Kaling (The Office, The Mindy Project), starring Ella Hunt (Dickinson, Anna and the Apocalypse) and Jay Ellis (Insecure, Top Gun: Maverick). A new ensemble workplace comedy about five ambitious twentysomethings navigating glamorous New York careers.
I Will Find You
I Will Find You
Starring Sam Worthington (Avatar, Clash of the Titans) and Britt Lower (Severance, Hindsight), based on the novel by Harlan Coben (Stay Close, The Stranger). A wrongly imprisoned father breaks out after learning his supposedly dead son may still be alive. Another Coben binge machine.
Alice and Steve
Alice and Steve
Starring Nicola Walker (Unforgotten, The Split) and Jemaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords, What We Do in the Shadows). Old friends thrown into chaos when Steve starts dating Alice's daughter. Best friends make the best enemies. Dry and charming British comedy.
Life Larry
Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness: an Almost History of America
Starring Larry David (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Seinfeld), with Barack Obama appearing alongside him. I would watch Larry David in anything, and this limited series is no exception. If the title tells you anything, he has absolutely not mellowed.
Most probably going to be bad but I want to check them out anyway
Best of the World
Best of the World with Antoni Porowski
Hosted by Antoni Porowski (Queer Eye). I am a sucker for a good travel documentary, so I am genuinely excited for this one. He travels through London, Mexico City, Paris, and New York uncovering food, culture, and hidden gems across four episodes.
