This film was honestly boring. It’s supposed to be a fun whodunnit with a group of old people solving murders but nothing exciting really happens. The story moves so slowly and the mystery never feels interesting. By the time they reveal the killer, I didn’t even care anymore.
Some of the actors are nice to watch, like Celia Imrie, but even they can’t save the film. The script just goes on and on with too much talking and not enough suspense. It felt more like waiting for something fun to happen that never came.
The direction is very plain. Scenes just sit there without energy and the camera never adds anything to make it feel tense or stylish. For a murder mystery, there’s almost no thrill, no real surprises, and nothing that makes you want to guess along.
The humor also falls flat. You can tell the film wants to be charming and funny in places, but the jokes are weak and the timing feels off. Instead of laughing, I mostly felt tired.
By the end, I was just watching the clock. The Thursday Murder Club could have been fun, but it ended up being one of the dullest whodunnits I’ve seen in years.
