Founded in 2005 by producer and screenwriter Mohamed Hefzy, Film Clinic emerged with a clear mission to champion bold new voices and pair them with the highest level of industry expertise. Over two decades, the company has built one of the most influential filmographies in the Arab world, moving fluidly between commercial success and uncompromising auteur cinema.

With more than forty films produced, Film Clinic has consistently acted as a bridge between emerging talent and international platforms. Its films have premiered at major festivals, sparked cultural conversations, and reshaped expectations of what Arab cinema can look like and where it can travel.

In 2017, the company expanded its vision by launching Film Clinic Indie Distribution, reinforcing its commitment not only to producing films but also to ensuring that daring Arab voices reach audiences locally and globally. This step cemented Film Clinic’s role as a full ecosystem rather than a traditional production house.

To celebrate twenty years of Film Clinic, we look back at twenty films that best represent its journey. These are not simply the most awarded or the most successful titles, but the films that collectively capture the company’s spirit of risk, range, and long-term impact on Arab cinema and, quite simply, the films that moved us and stayed with us.

These twenty films make the future more exciting than the past. With new projects in development and new voices still finding their way into the company’s orbit, there is a clear sense that the same curiosity, courage, and refusal to play it safe remain intact. As viewers, we are not just celebrating what Film Clinic has achieved over twenty years, but anticipating what is yet to come. New films, new risks, new conversations. If this body of work has taught us anything, it is that the most compelling chapters are often still unwritten, and we cannot wait to watch them unfold.
