Check out my recent post regarding the other five films I watched so you don’t have to — here’s part 2:
1- A Big Bold Beautiful Journey
With Margaret Qualley and Colin Farrell, you would expect a great film, no? I finally understand what people mean by “no chemistry.” Both are great actors, but together they just don’t work. The movie tries to feel deep and smart, but it’s really just boring and fake.
2- The Man in My Basement
Willem Dafoe and Corey Hawkins star in this one — and I swear I need to stop watching films just because Dafoe is in them. He’s amazing, but even he can’t save this slow and confusing story. It feels like he’s just there for the paycheck!

3- Him
Produced by Jordan Peele, starring Marlon Wayans and Tyriq Withers, this was a big letdown. The pacing is bad, the fights are bad, the acting is bad, and the story makes no sense. It starts promising, but halfway through you stop caring. The ending leaves too many questions and no answers.

4- Good Boy
Good Boy. Bad film. The idea is creepy and interesting, but the story is slow & lazy. What could’ve been a tense thriller turns into something you just want to end.

5- Dead of Winter
With Emma Thompson leading the cast, I went in expecting something smart and intense — but it’s a slow, cold crawl that never finds its rhythm. I’d watch anything with Emma Thompson, but an action film? A slow action film? It’s beautifully shot, but painfully dull. Even her talent couldn’t melt this frozen mess.

Another batch of disappointments. I take the hits, so you don’t have to — and this round was a rough one.
